One of my favourite things about New Year’s Eve is fireworks. I have always been a fan of fireworks displays, and will happily take any excuse to watch them!
With the excitement of their bright colours and bangs and sparks, fireworks are a fun way to see in each new year.
They make a great theme for kids crafts too, and this simple fireworks craft using a toilet roll stamper is ideal for kids of all ages.
New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate and let loose. If your kids are staying up to see in the New Year, why not give them something creative to do while they are waiting for the fireworks?
This DIY project will allow your child to have some fun while getting creative with their own handiwork.

The New Year’s Eve Fireworks Craft for Kids is a fun and creative activity that is perfect for small hands. This New Year’s Eve Craft for Kids is made from cardboard toilet paper rolls and is very easy to make.
You’ll only need a few simple materials for this fireworks craft idea, most of them you’ll probably already have around the house.

Toilet Paper Roll Fireworks Crafts Materials
- Gold and Silver Craft Paint
- Empty Toilet Paper Roll
- Scissors
- Black Construction Paper
- Paper Plate
- Paint brush or sponge brush

Are you ready to make your New Years Eve Fireworks craft? Let’s go!
First, use the scissors to cut strips half way up the toilet paper roll, like this:

Then, use your hand to push them outward, and squeeze a small sized amount of paint onto a paper plate.
Use a paint brush or sponge to spread the paint out into a circle
Gently press the toilet paper roll onto the paint and move around to cover the strips.

Place the toilet paper roll down onto the paper, lightly press down then turn it right and left to flick the
strips over the paper. This will create the “firework” effect.

Repeat with the second color of paint. Allow the picture to dry, then embellish as desired!
Adding the year in glitter glue is a nice touch for New Year’s Eve. If the kids are having a New Year’s party in the house, they can stick their fireworks artwork up on the walls as posters to decorate.

We hope you enjoy this simple and easy fireworks craft with the kids.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!
What better way to celebrate the new year than spending time with family and sharing your hopes and dreams with your loved ones. It’s a great opportunity to talk with the kids about the things they are wishing for in the year ahead.
It really is the most wonderful time of the year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones.
