Materials

  • toilet paper roll
  • red craft paint
  • blue craft paint
  • paintbrushes
  • red glitter
  • blue glitter
  • white cardstock paper
  • paper plate

Tools

  • scissors

Instructions

  1. Make even cuts about halfway up the toilet paper roll all around the bottom of the roll.
  2. Gently push the cuts outward until they lay almost flat on a surface.
  3. Repeat this step on another toilet paper roll.
  4. Pour craft paint on a paper plate in a circle.
  5. Use a paintbrush to evenly distribute the paint.
  6. Dip the toilet paper roll into the paint.
  7. To make sure all of the strips are covered, use the end of a paintbrush to gently press down into the paint. Continue this step until the strips are evenly covered.
  8. Gently press the painted toilet paper roll down onto the white cardstock.
  9. Again, to make sure the roll prints well onto the page, use the end of the paintbrush to press each strip down onto the paper.
  10. Gently lift the toilet paper roll off of the page and set aside. Pour desired amount of glitter onto the wet paint. Shake off and dispose of excess glitter.
  11. Repeat the steps above for the other paint color and the other toilet paper roll. Create the desired amount of fireworks on the white cardstock paper.
  12. Set aside to dry. Display!
