Summer is here, and there is nothing better than long hot days on the beach. To mix things up, why not play some fun beach games with the kids like our free printable beach scavenger hunt game.
This free printable beach activity will keep kids busy and active on the beach, and is a great way to enjoy some family fun together.
We have provided a few different ways to play this game, and if you don’t have a beach nearby you can even play this at home with our beach picture cards that are included in the download at the end of this blog post.
Printable Beach Scavenger Hunt for Kids
How to Play Scavenger Hunt at the Beach
If you’re playing this game at the beach, print out a copy of the scavenger hunt sheet for each child.
It’s best to laminate or use wipe clean folders to keep your page dry. This also gives the benefit of being able to wipe and re-use this activity on another beach trip.
Don’t forget to pack your dry wipe markers to use with the scavenger hunt printable!
To play beach scavenger hunt, set up each child with a print out and a wipe clean marker and give them a time limit of 30 minutes to run around the beach and see how many items they can find and tick off.
For young kids, have them pair up with an adult each so they are not running around out of sight on the beach, and they stay supervised.
After the time limit is up, all the teams come back together and see who has found the most items. That team can win a small prize!
For a slower paced version, remove the time limit and just keep the scavenger hunt list with you throughout the day. Whenever you spot something on the list, check the box! Try to complete the whole list before the day is done.
How to Play Beach Scavenger Hunt at Home or In The Classroom
If you’re not able to make it to the beach, you can still have fun making your own beach scavenger hunt at home, or in the classroom.
Print off all 18 of the beach themed pictures and cut them out so you have individual cards each with one of the beach pictures on.
Hide these beach picture cards around your play space, and let the game begin.
