How to make your Easy Halloween Spider Craft
Follow along with the simple step by step below to make a spider for Halloween.
Halloween Spider Craft
Make this easy rocking spider craft with just paper, glue, and scissors – a fun Halloween spider craft for kids that’s cute, spooky, and quick to create!
Materials
- Black construction paper
- White paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Optional - A round object to trace for the body
Instructions
- Cut the body. Trace a large circle on black construction paper and cut it out.

- Fold to make the rocker. Fold the circle in half to create a neat semicircle. This folded edge is the top of the spider and the curved edge lets it rock.

- Make the eyes. Cut two medium white circles and two smaller black circles.

- Glue the black circles onto the white ones to make big cartoon eyes.

- Attach the eyes. Glue the eyes along the folded top edge so they sit slightly over the rim, like in the photos.

- Cut the legs. From the leftover black paper, cut eight narrow strips. Add a small bend near one end of each strip to make a “knee.”

- Glue the legs on the left. Tuck the straight end of four strips just under the front flap on the left side and glue in place so the bent “knee” points outward.

- Glue the legs on the right. Repeat with four strips on the right side. Space the legs evenly so they fan out.
- Secure and shape. Press the folds so the legs stick well, then angle them until you like the look.
- Let it dry and rock. Stand your spider on the curved edge and give it a gentle tap so it rocks side to side.

- Add a smile or tiny fangs with scrap paper if you like.
Tip: If crafting with little ones, pre-cut the circle and leg strips so they can focus on gluing and assembly.
