Halloween is the perfect time to get creative with spooky crafts, and this rocking haunted house is such a fun idea. It’s simple to make with just a few supplies you probably already have at home, and the best part is how the house gently rocks back and forth once it’s finished. Kids love that little extra movement that makes their craft come to life.

This craft doesn’t use a printable template, so children can really let their imaginations run wild. Every haunted house can turn out a little different, which adds to the charm.
Some might have taller towers, others could be small and crooked, and of course you can decorate with as many spooky ghosts and pumpkins as you like.

Materials Needed
To make your rocking haunted house, you’ll need the following simple materials that you probably already have in your craft stash, or can be easily picked up at the craft store:
construction papers in black, purple, and yellow, scissors, glue, and a marker.
You can also add googly eyes, glitter, or extra decorations if you want to make it even more exciting.

Instructions
Start by cutting a big circle from your black paper, then fold it in half to create the rocking base. Next, cut out a couple of black rectangles and glue them standing upright on top of the folded base. These will form the walls of your haunted house.
Once that’s done, cut purple triangles to use as roofs and stick them on top of the rectangles. Now it’s time to make some glowing windows. Use yellow paper to cut little arc shapes, then draw a cross on each with your marker so they look like spooky old window panes. Glue the windows to the house walls.

Finally, bring your haunted house to life with details like a friendly ghost peeking out or a pumpkin by the door. You can cut these out freehand, or let the kids draw and decorate their own versions.
