Once made, you can pop a bag of this reindeer food into their Christmas Eve boxes, for a fun Christmas activity sprinkling this food on Christmas night. Small children will love this fun Christmas Eve tradition!
Magic Reindeer Food Recipe Ingredients:
For this simple recipe you will need the following ingredients and supplies
- 1/2 cup uncooked oats
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup red and green sugar crystals/sprinkles or edible glitter
- 5×7 clear cellophane bags
- Stapler
- Carrots (healthy reindeer food)
- Cookies for Santa
Be sure to avoid plastic based glitter, or sequins as these things can harm wildlife even though they may look cute. Rudolph doesn’t want to harm the environment, so make sure everything you include is edible and does not contain any micro plastics.
Directions: How to Make Magic Reindeer Dust
- Stir all the ingredients together and add to a plastic bag / ziploc bag.
- Staple poem to the bag at all four corners.
- On Christmas Eve, sprinkle the reindeer food outside and recite the special poem!
Alternatively you can make a batch of reindeer mix using this easy recipe and store in a mason jar.

Instructions
- Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl
- Add to small ziplock bag

- Staple to the top of bag
- On Christmas eve, sprinkle the reindeer food on your lawn
