Eco Friendly Perler Beads

We searched to find out whether there are any perler bead or plastic bead brands that are more sustainable than others, and we did come across Nabbi bio beads which are based in Sweden. These are made from biodegradable plastic (dolomer)

Most Perler bead brands traditionally use a type of plastic known as low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which is a food-grade plastic that doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, but is not biodegradable.

A great way to make your crafting more sustainable is to always be on the lookout for second hand beads, if you’re able to save and use some spare fuse beads that someone was ready to toss away then that’s always a win.

If you know of any more bead brands that are particular eco friendly and sustainable, do share with us in the comments.
