Instructions
- Print and cut the template pieces.
Trace the sunglasses template onto construction paper or cardstock, then carefully cut out all the pieces again.
- The template includes the main glasses frame, the side piece sections, and the front frame's side tabs that help hold everything together.

- Assemble the paper glasses by attaching the side piece sections to the front frame using glue. Fold the tabs where needed so the glasses can curve comfortably around the face.

- Make sure the eye holes are fully cut out before wearing the glasses.

- Now comes the really fun part - decorating. Kids can design their paper glasses any way they want. Add bright colors, patterns, polka dots, stripes, glitter, stickers, or even draw favorite characters on them.

- There are so many creative decorating ideas to try, and each pair of awesome glasses will look completely different.
- To turn your paper glasses into pretend sunglasses, cut small pieces of dark cellophane, such as dark purple or black, and glue them behind the eye holes.

- You can also use different colors of cellophane to make rainbow glasses, which is such a fun effect and something we have done before with similar crafts.
Just remind kids that these are pretend sunglasses for crafting and dress-up. They do not give real sun protection, so they should not be used instead of proper sunglasses outside.
This printable glasses template is such a fun activity because it mixes crafting with imaginative play. Once kids finish decorating, they can wear their paper eyeglasses around the house, use them for dress-up, or even put on a pretend fashion show.
It is also a great activity for classrooms, camps, library programs, and summer lesson plans because the printable files are easy to prep ahead of time.
Since the template is simple to cut and assemble, it works well for kids of all ages with a little supervision for younger children.
