Materials

- Cardstock - green, blue, purple, red, yellow, etc
- Black pen
- Multi-color yarn
- Tape
- Glue
Tools
- Scissors
Instructions
- Begin by gathering all the supplies listed above.
- And then printing the template for the mermaid.
- Cut out the pieces.
- Choose the colors of cardstock you will use for your mermaid. You will need a tail color and hair color for each.
- Trace the tail on your choice of color of cardstock. Cut out.
- Glue the tail to the bottom front of a jumbo craft stick.
- Next, gather your choice of yarn. We like the multi-colored skeins for some extra fun.
- Tape the beginning of the yarn to the back of the craft stick to secure in place. You could also use glue dots or hot glue instead.
- Start wrapping around the top of the tail up to about ⅔ of the way up the craft stick. Glue or tape the end to secure.
- Now, leave a little gap so there’s some craft stick showing and start wrapping more yarn just a few times. Secure the ends in place.
- Draw a simple face for your mermaid with a black pen.
- Finally, trace and cut out the pieces for hair.
- Glue the long piece to the back top of the craft stick.
- Then glue the small half circle bangs to the front of the craft stick.
- And just like that, your beautiful mermaids are ready for a swim under the sea!
