Get ready for the bright Spring days ahead with our Bubble Wrap Baby Chicks craft from our contributor Nicola from CraftyKidsAtHome.com
Like In the Playroom, we are big fans of using bubble wrap in our activities over at Crafty Kids at Home. It is definitely our favourite junk material to breath new life into, after it’s safely brought our online shopping home to us. Have you used it before in your activities?
We are starting to see a few glimmers of Spring out in the garden now, our snow drops are out in full force and we have a few daffodils trying to peek out. We are definitely in need of a bit more colour indoors as well after a long gloomy January, so we decided to break out our bubble wrap and create some colourful baby chicks with it.
Supplies
All you’ll need for this bubble wrap chicks craft is:
- Small paper plates
- Bubble wrap
- Googly eyes
- Feathers
- Yellow paint
- Yellow and Orange paper
- Glue
How to make Bubble Wrap Baby Chicks
Paint over a sheet of bubble wrap with yellow paint and then print this over the top your paper plate.
Leave the paint to dry, whilst prepare the rest of your chick.
Cut out 1 circle of yellow paper for the chicks face and 3 triangles of orange paper to use for the chick’s beak and feet.
Attach a few feathers to the back on your chick’s face using glue or sticky tape, then turn it back over and add on googly eyes and the orange triangular beak.
Glue the face down into the centre of the paper plate.
Finish off with the final orange triangles for your chicks little feet.
Our Bubble Chicks are great for adding a touch of Spring inside your home or why not pop them onto the front of an Easter card for some-one special?
