  • Non-toxic paint in various colors
  • White paper or cardstock, or a canvas
  • Green markers
  • Playdough (for the flower centers)

Tools

  • None

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace

Lay out a table cover to protect your crafting area. This can be as simple as an old newspaper or a plastic tablecloth. Crafting with kids can get a little messy, but that's part of the fun!
  2. Step 2: Paint Preparation

Squirt a generous amount of paint onto the paper plates. If you're creating multiple flower colors, have a plate for each color to prevent mixing - unless you are happpy to mix of course!
  3. Step 3: Bottle Prep

Grab your plastic soda bottle and ensure it’s clean and dry. The bottom of the bottle will be your stamp, so make sure the edges are not damaged.
  4. Step 4: Begin Stamping

Dip the bottom of the bottle into the paint on the plate. Ensure the edges are coated well, as these will create the petals of your flower. Firmly press the bottle onto the paper to make a flower shape. Lift straight up to avoid smudging. Repeat this to create as many bottle flowers as you’d like.
  5. Step 5: Flower Centers

Once the paint is slightly dry, add a dollop of playdough in the center of each flower. You can use different colors to mimic various flower types.
  6. Step 6: Draw the Stems

Using a green marker, draw stems and leaves connecting to each bottle flower. Encourage your kids to add their personal touch with their hand drawing.
  7. Step 7: The Final Touches

Let your flower painting dry completely. Add any additional painted details you’d like, such as grass at the bottom or a sun in the corner.
  8. Step 8: Gift or Display

Once your flower art is dry, you can frame it, hang it up at home, or wrap it up as a special gift. Each piece is unique and made with love.
