Enjoying a family picnic is such a simple thing, but for the kids it can be very exciting! It’s a great way to spend quality time together, chatting and enjoying the delicious food, whether at home or on a day out. We decided to make the most of the summer weather and prepare a fun outdoors lunch with the help of M&S.
A new M&S Foodhall has opened up in Colindale, which is not far from us in Harrow so we went along to check it out. You can click and collect your online orders from the Colindale store, as well as picking up any food or grocery shopping from inside the store.
It’s a pretty large Foodhall so plenty of choice inside, and you will find the click and collect counter right inside as you enter the store.
We had ordered some pretty new picnic-ware to make our family picnic more special, including a lovely bright picnic rug and a drink dispenser which the kids thought was amazing! I have to admit, I agree with them on that as it makes catering for larger families really easy.
Along with our picnic-ware, I decided to order some of the M&S catered food for the picnic. This was the first time I’d tried this service and was really impressed with it, it makes life so easy. I will definitely be ordering from there again especially if catering for extended family or larger groups. It’s just so effortless and the food was of a great quality.
We had a great mix of sandwiches, wraps, asian snacks (samosas, pakoras, onion bhajis..), salads, fruits and profiteroles for dessert. The kids were in heaven with this as everyone’s favourites were included. T is crazy about Samosas and Z loves profiteroles. Luckily, they all love fruit too especially watermelons at the moment.
I’ll definitely be taking my lovely new M&S picnic-ware on many more picnics throughout the summer, and hopefully in the years to come too. We are planning an epic family glamping trip with all the cousins so I know we are going to need a picnic or two there.
Preparing our family picnic with M&S has been so effortless, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

M&S is just my favourite place to shop for picnic food. Load of fresh fruit, yum and I spy a few checky profiteroles there. Mich x
Such yummy ideas! Those wraps look amazing!
I used to live opposite Brighton train station and the M&S food there was my go-to for snacky food for beach trips, train trips, sofa nights… haha! Now I have to go a bit further afield for it but it’s so worth it – my local is now on Worthing seafront so perfect for beach days!
I don’t think you can beat M&S for their food, it’s delicious. The picnicware looks lovely, and I REALLY want a drink dispenser now!!
I love M&S food! I’m lucky that there is a food hall opening up near me as well soon!
It doesn’t surprise me that the food was good quality. I always enjoy anything I buy as a takeaway from M&S! They’re so consistent, which is always a good thing.
You can always guarantee quality at M&S Might try a few of those
We’ve recently had an M&S open near us with a huge foodhall. They have a great range of salads and free from food.
