This festive moving reindeer craft transforms a simple paper plate into a playful holiday decoration.

Children can paint, cut, and assemble their very own reindeer complete with a movable popsicle stick. It’s a perfect blend of creativity and holiday cheer!

Materials

  • Paperplate
  • Black and White Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Construction papers in Green and brown
  • Cardboard
  • Popsicle stick
  • Pom pom
  • Gluestick
  • Double sided tape
  • Marker
  • White pen
  • Free Printable Template

Instructions

  1. Paint the paper plate black and let it dry.
  2. While drying the black painted paper plate, cut another paper plate
    in half and cut the other half in waves like mountains. Then paint it
    white.
  3. Draw stars on the black paper plate using the white pen.
  4. Attach the two paper plates together using the glue stick. Make
    sure to put the half-white paper plate on top of the black paper
    plate. Don’t forget to leave a space for the popsicle reindeer.
  5. Print and cut the template provided then trace and cut the
    Christmas tree template on green and brown paper while the
    reindeer on the cardboard.
  6. Attach the Christmas tree on the paper plate.
  7. Paint the reindeer template with brown and let it dry. While waiting
    for it to dry, prepare the eyes by cutting two small circles then
    shade the inner part using a marker. Then attach it to the reindeer.
  8. Attach the red pom pom ball below the eyes to make a red nose just like rudolph the red nose reindeer
  9. Attach the popsicle stick at the bottom part of the reindeer.
  10. Now, insert the popsicle stick reindeer into the paper plate.
  11. And there you have your moving reindeer paper plate
