We all know how much kids love to pop bubble wrap, right? So why not turn that obsession into a fun and creative craft project? This Bubble Wrap Heart Craft is not only adorable but also super easy to make. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, a birthday card, or just a cute afternoon activity when you want to keep the little ones busy.

And the best part? It’s a great sensory activity! Kids get to feel the bumpy texture of bubble wrap while creating something beautiful with their own hands. Plus, it’s messy enough to be exciting but not so messy that you’ll be scrubbing paint off your walls for hours. Let’s dive in!

What You Will Need

First things first, you need to gather your supplies. The great thing about this craft is that you probably have most of these things lying around the house already. And if not, a quick trip to your local craft store will do the trick. This is a simple craft that kids of all ages can do with minimal help from adults, which makes it perfect for a quick and fun creative session.

Here’s what you need:

  • White paper or cardstock
  • Bubble wrap (the kind that’s fun to pop!)
  • Paints in your favorite colors (we used gold but you can pick any shade!)
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Marker or pencil for drawing the heart shape

How To Make A Bubble Wrap Heart Craft

Let’s get crafting! Follow these simple steps to create your very own Bubble Wrap Heart. It’s a great project for kids to make a cute piece of art for someone special or just to hang on the fridge.

In the first picture, you’ll see everything you need for this craft. Make sure you have your paper, bubble wrap, paints, brush, scissors, and a pencil. It’s always good to have everything ready before starting to avoid mid-craft searches!

We’re cutting out a heart shape from the bubble wrap. You can either freehand it or draw a heart with a pencil first. This is a fun step for kids to practice their cutting skills.

You can see the bubble wrap heart being painted. We used a lovely gold color, but you can go wild with your favorite shades. Make sure the paint covers all the bubbles for a cool textured effect.

The fourth picture shows the exciting part! Gently press your painted bubble wrap heart onto your white paper or cardstock. Press it evenly to make sure the paint transfers beautifully.

Carefully lift the bubble wrap to reveal your heart print. Look at that gorgeous texture! In the fifth picture, you can see how the heart design has turned out. Let the kids admire their masterpiece.

In the final picture, we added a little string to turn our heart into a balloon. Just use a marker or pencil to draw a simple line from the heart’s bottom point. And there you have it, a sweet bubble wrap heart balloon!
