Toilet Paper Roll Tree

Today, we're making an adorable and super simple craft that will bring a touch of nature into your home: a Toilet Paper Roll Tree. Yep, you read that right. With just a few supplies, you can turn a plain ol' toilet paper roll into a cute little tree complete with leaves and even a bird's nest!

Materials

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Green and brown cardstock or construction paper
  • Craft glue
  • Safety scissors
  • Colored paper for the bird
  • Yellow shredded paper for the nest (or you can use yarn or paper scraps)
  • Markers or googly eyes for the bird
  • Optional: pom-poms, stickers, glitter for decoration

Instructions

  1. Start with the base. Take a brown piece of cardstock and roll it around the toilet paper roll. Glue the paper to secure it. This will be the tree trunk.
  2. Cut out the tree top. Using a white piece of paper, draw a large cloud-like shape. This will be the leafy part of your tree. Once you're happy with the shape, cut it out.
  3. Add some color. Glue the cut-out tree top onto a piece of green paper. Cut around the edges to create a nice, bright green tree top.
  4. Assemble the tree. Carefully make two small slits on each side of the toilet paper roll and insert the green tree top. This will keep the tree top in place and give your tree a 3D effect.
  5. Create the nest. Grab some yellow shredded paper and stuff it into the top of the tree trunk. This will be your bird's cozy little nest.
  6. Make your bird. Using colorful paper, cut out a simple bird shape. Place your bird in the nest and add any extra decorations like pom-poms or stickers. Let your kids go wild with their creativity!
  7. Ta-da! You now have an adorable Toilet Paper Roll Tree! Display it proudly or use it as part of a nature-themed play session.
