There are 10 different designs to choose from, so kids can pick their favorite or make a whole spooky collection. Each scene starts with a flat printable page. With a little cutting, folding, and gluing, it becomes a mini Halloween display for a shelf, desk, or party table.

Materials You’ll Need

You only need a few basic supplies for this printable Halloween craft. Sturdy paper or lightweight cardstock will help the background and characters stand up nicely once everything is assembled.

Gather your printed templates, scissors, and glue. A glue stick is handy for the tabs, although a small amount of liquid craft glue can also work. Younger children may need an adult to help with the smaller shapes and the cut in the circular base.

Instructions

  1. Print your chosen template. Print the page on sturdy paper or lightweight cardstock. You can make one design or print several for a group activity.
  2. Cut out the three main pieces. Cut around the large circle and the two separate character or prop pieces. Keep the rectangular tabs attached to the smaller pieces, as you’ll need these to glue them onto the base.
  3. Cut the marked line on the circle. Follow the solid cutting line that runs from the edge toward the center of the circle. Leave the dotted fold lines uncut.
  4. Fold the circular background. Fold the circle in half along the dotted line. Then fold along the second dotted line and glue the marked section to the back of the cut circle, following the template. This creates the flat base and upright backdrop.
  5. Fold the tabs on the smaller pieces. Fold each character or prop along its dotted line so the illustrated part stands upright and the tab can sit flat against the base.
  6. Match the numbers and glue. Match the piece labeled 1 to the position marked 1 on the base, and the piece labeled 2 to position 2. Apply glue to the underside of each folded tab and press it into place.
  7. Let the glue dry. Allow everything to dry before moving your craft. Once it’s ready, stand it on a flat surface and enjoy your little Halloween scene!
