This cute paper bag fox craft turns a simple paper bag into a woodland friend with pointy ears, fluffy white cheeks, and big googly eyes! It’s an easy animal craft to make with kids, and our printable fox template helps with cutting out and assembling all the little details.
Whether you’re planning a woodland animal theme, looking for a fall craft for preschool or kindergarten, or enjoying a creative afternoon at home, this little fox is a lovely project to try. Grab some orange paper, glue, and a paper bag, and you’re ready to get started!

Easy Woodland Animal Craft for Kids
Foxes fit beautifully into fall crafting, with their orange coloring and connection to woodland stories and forest habitats. This paper bag fox would look right at home alongside homemade squirrels, owls, and hedgehogs on an autumn display.
You can also pair this activity with a favorite fox picture book or use it as part of a woodland animals topic. While children work, chat about the features they’re adding. The pointed ears, white cheeks, and black nose all help turn a plain orange bag into a recognizable fox.
There’s plenty of room for personality, too. Changing the position of the eyebrows or choosing different-sized googly eyes can give each fox its own expression!

You’ll need a paper bag and construction paper in orange, white, and black to make this fox craft. Our printable template provides the shapes to trace and cut out, so you can focus on putting your woodland friend together. Instructions
- Cut a piece of orange construction paper to fit the front of your paper bag. Outline the edges with a black marker and add a few lighter details along the sides.

- Trace the white cheek template onto white paper and cut it out, including the pointed fur tufts on each side. Outline it in black and add light gray shading near the edges.

- Glue the white cheek piece across the bottom of the orange paper, lining up the lower edges. Leave the orange section visible in the middle to form the fox’s pointed face.

- Use the template to cut out two orange ears, two smaller white inner ears, and the black eyebrows and nose-and-mouth piece. Outline the ear shapes and add a couple of light highlights to the nose.

- Glue the white inner ears onto the orange ears, then attach them behind the top edge of the face. Add the eyebrows and glue the nose-and-mouth piece at the bottom of the orange point.

- Glue on two googly eyes beneath the eyebrows, overlapping the upper edges of the white cheeks.

- Attach the assembled fox face to the front of your paper bag. Press gently to secure it, making sure the ears stay visible above the top edge.

- Let the glue dry completely, and your paper bag fox is ready to display!

Learning Through Fox Crafts
This paper bag animal craft gives children a chance to practice several useful skills as they create. Cutting around the template shapes encourages scissor control, while tracing and outlining offer practice with careful pencil movements.

Picking up small paper pieces, applying glue, and positioning the facial features also give little hands a fine motor workout. Following the instructions provides an opportunity to practice sequencing, with children working through the project one part at a time.
You can bring in some simple shape vocabulary as you go. Look for the triangular ears, round eyes, and rectangular bag, then see which other shapes your child can spot.
Ways to Use Your Finished Paper Bag Fox
Once your fox is dry, display it on a shelf or add it to a woodland-themed classroom display. A whole group of foxes looks especially sweet, with each child’s version showing a slightly different expression.
Children can also give their fox a name and invent a story about it. Where does it live? Who are its woodland friends? What happens when it goes exploring? This is an easy way to extend the craft into a storytelling or early writing activity.
For a fall display, arrange the foxes alongside paper leaves, trees, and other woodland animal crafts.
