Drawing can be a fun and educational activity for kids. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to draw a cute frog with easy-to-follow steps. We also have a step-by-step video that you can follow along with to make things even easier.
Drawing is not only a fun activity but also an excellent way for kids to develop fine motor skills and express their creativity. My 7-year-old daughter loves to draw, especially animals, and frogs are one of her favorites!

Drawing animals can be particularly rewarding because it helps kids observe and appreciate the natural world. Plus, it’s a great way to spend quality time together. So, grab your pencils and join us in drawing an adorable cartoon frog!

Materials
- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Black Marker
- Colored pencils
Instructions
- Step 1: Draw the Eyes
Start by drawing two large circles for the eyes. These circles will be the most prominent feature on the frog's face. - Step 2: Create the Face Shape
Below the eyes, draw a larger circle to form the outline of the frog's face. Make sure this circle connects with the lower middle / bottom of the eye circles. - Step 3: Outline the Body
Next, draw the body by creating a larger oval shape beneath the face. This oval will serve as the main part of the frog's body. - Step 4: Add the Belly
Inside the body oval, draw a semi-circle at the bottom. This semi-circle will be the frog's belly. - Step 5: Draw the Feet
Now, draw the frog's feet. Use bumpy lines to create the webbed feet. Place these feet at the bottom of the body oval. - Step 6: Add the Legs
Draw the legs by adding lines on each side of the body. These lines should curve and connect to the feet, giving the frog a sitting position. - Step 7: Draw the Face Details
Give your frog a happy expression by adding a smile below the eyes. Then, draw small circles on each side of the face for the cheeks. - Step 8: Detail the Eyes
Inside each eye circle, draw a smaller black circle for the pupils. Add tiny white circles inside the pupils to give the eyes a shiny effect. - Step 9: Connect the Bottom
Finish the outline by drawing a line at the bottom to connect the body and feet. - Step 10: Color Your Frog
Finally, bring your frog to life by coloring it. Use different shades of green for the body and legs, and add a lighter green or yellow for the belly. Don't forget to color the cheeks a soft pink and the eyes black with white highlights.
And there you have it! Your very own cute frog drawing. Be sure to watch our step-by-step video tutorial for a visual guide to these steps.

Once you’ve got the cute frog drawing technique down, why not mix things up and change the colors or patterns. How about a red frog, a blue frog like a poison dart frog, or even a rainbow frog?
In the tropics, or the rainforest, you can come across frogs with all kind of patterns like spots, stripes, and bright colors that serve as a warning to predators not to eat them, and these are so much fun to draw too.
Happy drawing!
