Materials

  • A4 Paper
  • Colored pencils, crayons or markers in red and blue or colors of your choice
  • Extra decorations are optional such as stickers, sequins, gems and jewels
  • Clear tape

Tools

  • Printer
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Start off by printing the provided template on a cardstock paper. This is the canvas for our masterpiece!
  2. Now, the most fun part of all - adding color! To color the printable hat, grab your favorite coloring tools – be it crayons, markers, or colored pencils – and let your imagination take over. Color in the hat and all its details. Whether you want to stick to the traditional red, white, and blue or go all out with a rainbow of hues, it's totally up to you!
  3. Cut out the headband: Next, we’re going to carefully cut out the headband shape along the outline. This part is important, so take your time to ensure you get those neat, precise cuts. A perfect shape equals a perfect fit!
  4. Measure and adjust the size (optional): If the headband seems too large for the wearer, you can measure the circumference of their head and trim the headband accordingly. Make sure to leave some extra length for overlapping or securing the ends.
  5. Form the headband: It’s time to bring it all together! Align the two ends of the headband and secure them using strong glue or clear tape. Make sure it's attached securely so that the headband keeps its shape.
  6. Wear or display: And there we have it! Your DIY Fourth of July Hat is ready to shine. It’s time to show off your beautiful creation. Wear it proudly or display it as a festive decoration by hanging it on the wall.
