If you’re looking for unique ways to decorate or dye your eggs this easter, why not try this fun string decorated easter eggs idea. The results are so pretty!
Materials needed for String Art Decorated Eggs
- Yarn
- Glue
- Hard boiled eggs
- Food colouring
- Water
- Scissors
- Paper towel
- Bowls
- Empty egg carton
String Dyed Eggs Instructions
Squeeze glue onto the eggs where you will be wrapping the yarn. Then wrap the yarn tightly around the eggs.
Once you are done wrapping the egg in your desired pattern, cut the yarn and place a dot of glue to adhere it to the egg.
Sit them in the empty egg carton for a few minutes to allow the glue to dry a bit.
Fill bowls with water, add drops of food coloring to create the color of your choice.
Put the eggs into the coloured water and let them sit for about a minute or two.
Remove the eggs and place in the empty egg carton to dry.
NOTE* The glue will loosen up from being in the water and the yarn will peel right off the egg.
Once the eggs are dry, remove the yarn. The water will have soaked into the yarn and created a darker pattern on the eggs. PLUS any glue that you got on the egg in other areas will not absorb the colored water and will stay white.
This can make for some pretty cool patterns!
