A trip to see the Aurora Borealis the Northern Lights

My Travel Bucket List

I’m happy to have ticked off one of the destinations from my travel bucket list last month, as we visited Dubai for the first time. We explored a little further out to a couple of the other nearby emirates too, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi which had lots of beautiful places to visit and lovely places to relax. I had always wanted to visit the UAE, particularly Dubai since it’s such a famous holiday destination and I heard so many people had enjoyed visiting. We had been to some of the other nearby Gulf countries before, but the UAE had still been high on my list so having the chance to tick that off the list was great. We hope to go back again soon! Here are a couple of pictures from our recent trip.

The next place on my travel bucket list has to be Disneyland in Orlando Florida. Last year we went to Disneyland Paris and we really enjoyed it. I loved it as much as the kids, I have to admit. Everyone says that the Florida Disneyland is even better, so I just have to try it out for myself and it is definitely up there high on my list.

Here’s one of my favourite pictures from our trip to Disneyland Paris:

We also have a couple of friends living out there who said that it is a really great place. It seems very family friendly, with lots to do while visiting.

So far, the Asian country that we have visited a few times is Sri Lanka since we have family there (my husband’s family is originally from Sri Lanka). But we would love to take the chance to go a little further and explore a new country like Malaysia. I have no doubt that we would really enjoy the trip!

Sri Lanka is a beautiful Asian country too and if you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, it’s definitely one to consider for your bucket list! Here’s a pictures from one of our previous visits.

  1. Ah! The Northern Lights – so beautiful and so elusive, although there’s been sightings this year in the UK. Now I have to get my thinking cap on for my bucket list – which in reality isn’t too hard, the hardest bit will be keeping it to three! And Disneyland in Florida is fab – and good for kids of all ages!! #TimeTraveller

  4. We tried to see the Northern Lights in Finland a few years ago, but although we had a great time, we didn’t see them! I’d love to go to New Zealand and to Canada – one day…..

  5. The northern lights are right at the very top of my list. My husband really wanted to propose to me there but we had a very financially challenging year and he settled for a waterfall in Switzerland instead. I would also love to go to Canada to see bears, Chilie to see the amazing glaciers, Hawaii to see a live volcano, Iceland to see the geysers and sit in the geothermal pools and French Polynesia to completely get away from it all. Oh my i really really need a holiday now!

  7. Love to see the Northern Lights because they look amazing. Dive with Great White Sharks in South Africa because I am mesmerized by them, and go and see the Valley of the Kings.

  8. Tokyo is on the top of my list. Would love to experience the culture and food. I’d also love to travel around the less well known parts and see Japan from another point of view.
Second is the Scottish Highlands. I live in Brighton and would love to go to the other extreme part of the Brisish Isles.

    My bucket list is

    • My reasons are Sydney Harbour looks amazing, Particularly The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Whales are fabulous animals and I would love to see them in their own habitat – and Table mountain dominates over South Africa, the rugged coastline that surrounds it and the fabulous African safaris.
