10. The Ritz, London

The Ritz in London is a famous hotel for lots of reasons. Founded in 1906 by César Ritz, a Swiss hotelier who was among the first to introduce five-star service to Europe, Winston Churchill, and Coco Chanel are among the celebrities and famous people who have stayed there. 

The building initially housed no more than 12 rooms; today, there are 170 guest rooms on six floors, and all of them are a reminder of a bygone age of luxury.
