We’re happy to be taking part in the Innocent Alphabet Champions challenge and we were selected for the letter R. We’ve been doing lots of things to do with the letter “R” and the boys have been having lots of fun with all the alphabet magnets we received from Innocent. They also love drinking their innocent smoothie cartons, perfect for a lunch box or for an after school drink.

This year, innocent are running an on pack promotion so that everyone can receive their own name in magnets. This is fab as we all know that kids often don’t have enough magnets to spell their full names but now they can. All the details are on the packs, but it’s super easy. Once you’ve collected 6 (or more) barcodes you just need to send it over to the guys at innocent Towers, and they’ll send you out three names. What’s more, on the innocent website you can also take part in a really fun ‘design your own innocent alphabet’ competition. Click here to find out more: http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/alphabet

So now.. onto our pictures for the letter R

R is for… Recognising

letter recognition with letter magnets from innocent drinks packsMr R and Mr T have been working a lot with the Innocent letter magnets on the fridge, pointing at the ones they recognise and saying the sound.

R is for… Reading

For Mr T I prepared some simple CVC words for him on the fridge (like jam as you can see here – although I guess I should have chosen something beginning with R 😉 ) and worked with him to sound them out and say the words together

After we finished some of our Innocent juices, I decided to wash out the bottles and use them to make water bead sensory bottles rather than just throwing them straight into the recycling bin. The water beads look so pretty with light shining through them, on the window sill or when the kids play with them and hold them up to the light. These large innocent bottles hold two packets of water beads plus water.

This is a shape matching activity that Mr T was enjoying yesterday, developing his concentration and fine motor skills – all good practise for the school classroom, and also lots of fun!

He also loved the innocent drinks 🙂

Mr RR is for… Ready for school!

Mr T is starting Reception this year and is still in the middle of his transition into school. Here he is on his first day in with uniform! Mr R has also started nursery this September. All of their activities with the alphabet and the letter R will definitely help them get ready for school!
