Bandai have a wide range of Power Rangers toys, among other characters, and they sent Mr Z a Power Rangers Megaforce Deluxe Gosei Morpher to try out. Mr Z is generally familiar with Power Rangers but hasn’t seen it much on TV. He is interested in trying out toys which are less babyish, now that he is 5 – so I was interested to see how he would get on with the Power Rangers toy.
The Megaforce Gosei Morpher is a shield in the shape of a Power Ranger face. When you open the mouth (pulling it downwards) you can activate different phrases by using the collectable power rangers cards. There are 10 cards included with the Morpher but you could buy others if your child wants to collect the full set.
Each card has a Power Rangers Megaforce character on it. Our 10 has lots of varieties of Red Rangers and the Megazord. Each of the 10 cards we have is different. They also have instructions and scores on them which can be used together with the Power Rangers Megaforce Action Card Game. I do think there would be more play value if the Morpher was bought together with the game. Mr Z did enjoy activating the different sounds and sorting through his cards, looking at the various Power Ranger scores on them but together with the game I think the play potential would be a bit wider. Although I am sure that big fans of the Power Rangers would get a lot out of the Deluxe Gosei Morpher even on its own, and enjoy collecting more cards to gradually unlock all 180 of the potential sound effects!
There are also loads of Action Figures in the Power Rangers Megaforce range, starting at only 1.99 for the mini figures which makes them perfect for stocking fillers! I actually think that some of the action figures may be a better introduction to the Power Rangers for young boys who are not really familiar with the show, compared to the Deluxe Gosei Morpher which would be better for those who are really into Power Rangers so will recognise all the different sayings more.
