Have you heard about Puffin Rock, the new show coming to Nick Jr? I shared the trailer last week along with some free printable colouring sheets featuring the Puffin Rock characters and now we are bringing you our first Puffin Rock craft, some cute paper plate puffins inspired by Oona from Puffin Rock.
To make your paper plate puffin Oona you will need:
- White paper plate
- Grey paint (mix your own with black and white)
- Coloured paper
- Scissors
- Glue
How to make a paper plate puffin Oona
First, we painted the outside of the paper plate in grey, and painted a section of grey to go behind Oona’s eye.
While the paint is drying, cut out the pieces of coloured paper that you will need to make Oona’s beak. You will need a large orange piece for the main part of the beak, plus one yellow and one blue stripe.
To make Oona’s eye, we used our Puffin Rock printables as a template and traced the eye onto a piece of white paper, then coloured and cut it out. Once your paint is dry, you’re ready to stick on all the pieces to assemble Oona’s face.
And your Oona is finished! This is a really simple craft that even toddlers can enjoy making.
You can catch Puffin Rock debuting today at 6.30pm on Nick Jr, and it will be continuing on weekdays at 6.30pm. We loved the first episode of Puffin Rock and will be tuning in to watch.
If you have not yet seen it, then take a look at the Puffin Rock Trailer here, and read our thoughts on the first episode.
