If your kids are obsessed with mermaids, they are going to love this magical mermaid slime! It’s full of glitter, sequins, and shimmer, just like something you’d find in a treasure chest under the sea.
This simple slime recipe is easy to make, and we’ve even got a step-by-step video you can watch together.
It’s the perfect rainy day activity or boredom buster that will keep little hands happily busy.

How to Make Mermaid Slime
To make your mermaid slime, you’ll need a few simple ingredients. Start with a full bottle of Elmer’s blue glue as your base. Then you’ll need a small amount of baking soda and some contact lens solution to help the slime form and hold its shape. For that magical mermaid touch, add plenty of glitter — we used sparkly silver, but feel free to get creative with any color you love. Finish it off with some sequins, especially iridescent or ocean-themed ones, to really bring that under-the-sea sparkle to life.

Start by squeezing your blue glue into a mixing bowl. One bottle is perfect for a good amount of slime. Then add a small amount of baking soda, just a little pinch will do, and mix it up using a popsicle stick or whatever you have on hand.
Next, add in your contact lens solution a little at a time, mixing as you go. You’ll notice the slime starting to form and pull away from the sides of the bowl. Keep stirring until it becomes less sticky and more solid.

Now comes the best part, which is of course the sparkles!
Add a handful of glitter and your sequins, then mix everything together until your slime is full of shiny, mermaid-inspired magic. You can stretch it, squish it, and swirl it around for endless sensory fun.
Once you’re done playing, store the slime in a cute little jar or container with a lid. This helps keep it from drying out so you can enjoy it again and again.
