Nearly every family with a young child must have a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! It’s such a well known and well loved book, that the Caterpillar has become iconic. When you think of children’s books, it’s one of the first that comes to mind, and I’m sure I’m not alone in being able to recite the whole story off by heart word for word!
Rainbow Designs have some gorgeous products to go alongside the Eric Carle book. We were sent this Very Hungry Caterpillar Large Plush and Let’s Count on the Go Book, and we have the same products as a giveaway prize for one lucky reader too!
Both of these products are suitable from birth, and would make a lovely new baby or 1st birthday gift. Baby N is now 15 months old (more of a toddler now than a baby – that has flown by!) and has enjoyed both of these.
She’s very familiar with the original book and the Let’s Count version is really handy for keeping her occupied in the buggy on the school run. I love books that clip on, so there’s no chance of losing them and this one also has a corner to chew on when her teeth are bothering her.
It has textured pages, each one featuring one of the fruits that the caterpillar ate on Monday through Friday. It’s very simple, and the repetition will hopefully help her pick up her numbers 1-5 easily.
The large plush is really cute, well made, and is a really good size! It’s very soft, brightly coloured and instantly recognisable from the book.
He’s really lovely to snuggle up to while reading a book! I also use him as a fun prop to act out the story for baby N and help bring it to life, by making him gobble up different pretend foods.
Both of these are really lovely items for a young child. Although suitable from birth, they are very suitable for toddlers too so have quite a wide span.
