How much do you know about the Woodland Trust? We’re happy to be working with The Woodland Trust again to help raise awareness about the important work it does in protecting woodland and the wildlife that lives there for future generations.

Taking your kids to play in the woods is such a simple and fun activity, that I’m sure we’ve all done with our families, and perhaps take for granted – but without the work of Woodland Trust this type of activity could no longer be so easily available for our grandchildren, and their grandchildren!

The Woodland Trust is Britain’s largest charity protecting our woodland and the wildlife that lives there. Over 250 of our most threatened species depend on our native woods for their survival. Yet in the past 70 years, more than half of our ancient woodland has been destroyed.

You can become a member of the Woodland Trust and help to support their important work from just £5 a month. Find out more about the Woodland Trust by visiting their website

With your Woodland Trust membership, you could help save woodland locally and nationally, protecting them for your children and their children.

Once you join up, as part of the new Woodland Trust Family Membership each child (9 and under) in your family will become a Nature Detective with their own welcome pack. Grownups receive your own pack including a directory showing all Woodland Trust woods, plus a unique guide to native British trees, a quarterly publication and more.

As a member you’ll help:

  • Protect the countryside by buying threatened woods to save them from destruction by relentless development and changes in farming
  • Give home to the endangered birds, insects, plants and mammals which depend on the woods for their survival
  • Plant millions of trees, creating important new habitats for rare plants and wildlife

  1. We use our local woodland regularly, it’s just brilliant for family fun and a lovely way for the kids to get in touch with the outdoors and let off steam. Love the idea of a family membership – it’s a perfect way to foster a love of nature and an interest in looking after our environment. Fab prize too!

  3. This sounds like such a good idea! I’ll have to look into this a little further. I don’t get outdoors as much as I should, and I sometimes need something to do to make me want to go out. This would make so much of a difference, because I’d be wanting to use everything straight away. Nevermind the kids! Haha!

Thanks for joining in with #ChasingNature
