How To Make The Craft

Dive into the festive spirit of Thanksgiving Day with our printable turkey paper craft! This turkey activity is a delightful way for kids and families to come together and create their very own Thanksgiving turkey, adding a personal touch to the holiday celebrations.

• Printable turkey craft template (free digital file provided at the bottom of the post)
• Scissors (to enhance those scissor skills!)
• Glue stick
• Googly eyes (optional)
• White printer paper or white cardstock 
• Optional: real feathers, glitter, or other decorations

Step 1: Click on the “Download the PDF Template” heading at the bottom of the post and download the free printable build-a-turkey template. Open the free digital file in a new window or take it to a print shop if you prefer.

Step 2: Print the turkey craft template on regular paper or white cardstock for better durability. All of the turkey parts including the feathers and body are all on the one page free printable template. 

Step 3: Gather your craft supplies and carefully color the turkey’s body, turkey’s head, turkey’s feathers, and other turkey parts as you desire. Let your creativity fly!

Step 4: Once coloring is done, use scissors to cut out the following pieces. This not only results in cute turkeys but also helps enhance scissor skills.

Step 5: Using a glue stick, attach the turkey feathers to the turkey’s body, the eyes to the turkey’s head, and other parts as shown in the template.

Step 6: If you’re feeling extra crafty, add on googly eyes or use a paper plate as a background. 

Step 7: Display your turkey proudly on the Thanksgiving table or anywhere in the house to add to the Thanksgiving fun.

Variation – print turkey page and cut out the pieces and trace them onto colored construction paper, before assembling your own turkey, to create a vibrant full color version.
