A baby’s first room is a special place. It’s where your child will spend most of their time as they grow and learn about the world. A lot goes into making a nursery feel like home. From finding the perfect crib to picking out the perfect wallpaper, there are many decisions that need to be made. In this post we will share some of the best new baby essentials for your nursery.

The birth of a new baby is cause for celebration. It is a time filled with joy and excitement, but also anxiety and worry. New parents have so many questions about their child’s development and growth, feeding, sleeping, potty training, discipline, safety, and more. There are so many aspects to take into consideration that sometimes it can feel overwhelming.

The arrival of a new baby is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. You want to prepare your home for the new addition and make sure everything is ready before they arrive. It can be hard to know what to do as a new parent. Often, we want to know what is best for our child and how we can give them the best start in life. Raising a child with good self-esteem is one of the most important aspects of parenting. Many parents struggle with this because they don’t know where to start and may feel frustrated and misunderstood. However, there are many small changes you can make that will have a huge impact on your baby’s future happiness and well-being.

It’s a time of great anticipation and it’s easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of things you need for your baby. Whether it’s a crib, stroller, or high chair, what you choose will have a major impact on how your baby lives. New parents are often overwhelmed with the number of products available when they are preparing for the arrival of their new baby. With everything from cribs to clothes, it can be hard to know what you really need for your baby.

Keeping this in mind, it’s important to be selective about what you buy. You might think that safety is the most important thing when choosing a crib but the truth is that the mattress quality is more crucial. We’ve created a list of some essentials that will help make life easier when you have an infant in your home and some tips on how to navigate through all of the options and create a nursery that will meet your needs and stay within budget.

I made this list based on my own experience with my daughter and I normally share these with friends of mine that are pregnant or trying to have a baby. They know I always try a minimalist approach and are curious to know how I applied that to motherhood. I have to say it wasn’t always easy to keep things minimal especially when it came to clothing, but I think I did pretty well.

Before we get into the nursery essentials, let me share one of my favourite baby hacks when it came to clothing. I would normally stick to 3 to 5 pieces of each item on her current age. But when it came to sleepsuits I would buy a bit more. Babies wiggle a lot and as a first time mum I was always worried about handling her and possibly hurting her. I used to really struggle with normal sleepsuits because of all the little buttons. That’s when I found zip sleepsuits and I was hooked! They are so easy to put on and take off so I would totally recommend stocking up a baby zip sleepsuit collection of your choice. They are a game changer!

Nursery Essentials:

  • Cot bed
  • Nursing chair and footstool
  • Chest of Drawers
  • Baby Monitor
  • Changing Table
  • Diaper bin
  • Baby Wipes Dispenser

Becoming a parent is life-changing. You’ll find that your priorities change drastically. You might even find that you lose sleep and get cranky. But the reward is worth it! A baby will forever change you as a whole and how you perceive life. It is the most amazing and exciting adventure of all!
