Materials
- Red cardstock or construction paper
- Black cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Black marker or pen
- Pencil for tracing
- Small heart-shaped puncher (optional, but makes things easier!)
Instructions
- Step 1: Start by cutting out several red circles from the red cardstock.
You can trace a small bowl or a round object to make perfect circles. These will be the base for your ladybird's body. - Step 2: Fold each circle in half to create a crease in the middle.
This folding step will help give your ladybird that fun 3D effect. - Step 3: Stack several of the folded circles on top of each other.
Use your glue stick to apply glue along the crease of each circle and stick them together, creating a layered, semi-sphere shape. - Step 4: Once your ladybird body is ready, cut out a small black circle for the ladybird’s head.
Glue it onto one end of the layered red body. - Step 5: Now it’s time to add some spots! You can use a heart-shaped puncher to cut small hearts out of black paper.
If you don’t have one, simply cut little black spots with scissors. - Step 6: Glue the black spots onto the red body.
Feel free to be creative with the placement—there’s no right or wrong way to do it!
- Step 7: For the finishing touch, use your marker to draw on little antennae. You can also cut small black paper strips to create 3D antennae if you want to go all out.
