Christmas White Box Photoshoot with Gorgeous Moments Photography

A couple of weeks ago we went along to try out a new kind of photoshoot with our favourite local Photographer, Gorgeous Moments Photography.

The White Box Photoshoot is a new concept which is so simple, but has extremely effective results and I’m really happy with our finished collage.

Firstly – you might be asking What is a White Box Photoshoot?

In a white box photoshoot, the photographer uses a white background to shoot pictures which will then be edited together to create a larger scene. I love the way the results come together, like all of the different scenes happening in the rooms of a house. There is so much going on, and you get the chance to show off lots of personality within the four walls of each white box.

With the children growing up so quickly, it’s lovely to get professional pictures taken to look back on. But  as well as getting some beautiful photographs, I also want the kids to enjoy the photoshoot so that it’s something fun – and of course that results in more natural smiles too. No-one really wants an awkward photo with a bunch of fake smiles (for that reason it’s quite rare that I buy the school photos as they don’t tend to look happy in them!)

Luckily, Gregor from Gorgeous Moments is really good with kids and we have done a few photoshoots with him now (Last year at Christmas, a Springtime shoot with daffodils, and this White Box shoot) so my kids are familiar with him and he quickly makes everyone feel comfortable.

They had lots of fun at the White Box photo session with a snowball fight, giant teddy, and cookies to eat, and N loved riding the little rocking horse.

Gregor is really good at working with how the children are on the day. Our eldest was very tired that afternoon after being in a sleepover the night before, so the square with Z sleeping in the box is actually genuine – he was really half asleep in there while R stole the presents from him!

Here are a few “behind the scenes” pictures from the shoot, taken on my phone… And in case you’re wondering about the matching Christmas PJs, those are from H&M which luckily had matching pairs from size 1.5-2years all the way up to 8-10 which was perfect.

Gorgeous Moments Photography is based in West London. This shoot was in West Drayton, and our previous Springtime session was in Walpole Park in Ealing. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is not too far away (even if you have to travel a little, it will be worth it)

Check the website for details of the different photoshoots available. We really like to go for the Mini Sessions because there are so many fun seasonal themes – next year we will fit in some more I am sure.

Here are a couple from our previous sessions…

We were invited to the White Box session in order to review, but have been a regular costumer for previous sessions, and will be continuing to use Gorgeous Moments Photography in future.

Why is a Whitebox Photoshoot Optimal for a Christmas Shoot?

A whitebox photoshoot is a very popular and effective way of shooting a Christmas campaign. It’s perfect for capturing all of the holiday cheer and giving you an unrivaled sense of space.

The three primary reasons why whitebox photography is optimal for a Christmas shoot are:

1) It creates an unrivaled sense of space.

2) The location is not as important since the backdrop is all white walls and the flooring can be any color that suits your style.

3) Whitebox photography can capture all of that holiday cheer, which makes it perfect for a Christmas shoot!
