Big Little Tent Festival

Big Little Tent Festival was created last year during lockdown, since we aren’t able to be out there exploring just now, Caravan Club came up with this idea to allow families to have fun and continue the excitement of camping at home. The festival aims to bring the great outdoors to you – in the comfort of your own home.

This year’s Big Little Tent Festival will be taking place over the Easter weekend, 3-4th April and includes lots of fun filled activities as part of the festival schedule, including a Zoom party to meet The Mermaid Princess and The Friendly Neighbourhood Hero for games, superhero training, and a campfire song!

You can see the full events schedule here, and start planning which bits you most want to join in and get involved.

Visit the Caravan Club website to download the free activity pack here, and you will be in with a chance of winning 2 Raleigh bikes. This would be an amazing prize to take along with you when the campsites are back open and we can all get back to our camping adventures once again.

The download pack includes festival wrist bands and bunting to colour, lists to help you plan your own Big Little Tent Festival at home, and lots of printable puzzles, games and activities to keep the kids entertained. There is also a challenge sheet with tonnes of activity ideas to complete and tick off, recipes, fun facts and more!

Big Little Tent Festival will give us a great excuse to get our tent back out in the garden, which was so much fun during the first lockdown. All of us spent so much time in there and it brought the kids a lot of excitement.

It will also be great to set up an outdoor movie screening for the family, which goes so well with backyard camping.

If the weather lets us down, we also have a little tent set up indoors which N loves to use along with her pretend camping stove.

Once we have a little more freedom to explore, anyone can access the Caravan and Motorhome Club tent camping sites. With over 80 tent camping sites across the UK to choose from, starting at just £8.40 per night, there’s always somewhere new to discover. From the lochs of the Scottish Highlands to Devon’s incredible Jurassic Coast, there is plenty of choice when booking a camping holiday.  With electricity and hot showers included when booking a pitch, all that’s needed is a tent and the love of the great outdoors.

As soon as we’re able to go away, camping is right at the top of our to do list especially if we’re able to get together with a few friends and take all the kids together so they can play and explore outside together – something which we have all missed so much over the past year. Simple adventures like this are so magical, and we can not wait!
