Origami Bat Craft
Fold your way into the spooky season with this easy Halloween bat origami craft! A simple yet fun paper project that’s perfect for adding a touch of spookiness to your Halloween celebrations.
Materials
- Black square paper
- White paper (optional, for eyes and teeth)
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Black marker or pen
Instructions
- Prepare the Paper:
Gather a black square piece of paper, along with scissors, glue stick, and a black marker.
- Fold into a Triangle
Fold the black paper in half diagonally to form a triangle. Make sure the edges align neatly.
- Create the Bat's Base:
Take the bottom straight edge of the triangle and fold it upwards, leaving a small section at the top still visible. This forms a smaller triangle at the top and a horizontal strip at the base.
- Form the Wings :
Flip it over, and fold the triangle downwards over the long strip, then fold the edges downwards to create the wings.
- Form the Bat's Head
Continue folding the other side for the second wing. Both of the folded wings should be on the back.
This folding creates the shape of the head of the bat.
- Shape the Wings
Fold the the wings back out to open - Add Wing Details:
Use the scissors to cut small curves or notches along the outer edge of each wing. This gives the wings a more realistic, bat-like appearance.
- Prepare the Face:
On a small piece of white paper, draw and cut out two eyes and fangs for the bat. You can make them as large or as small as you like, depending on how you want the bat’s face to look.
- Attach the Face Features:
Glue the eyes and fangs onto the bat’s head.
Finally, use the black marker to add details to the eyes, such as pupils, to bring the bat to life.
Now you have your completed origami bat, perfect for a Halloween decoration or just for fun!
