For Aisha is a really handy solution for parents looking for convenient foods for babies on busy days, or on the go, but requiring Halal options. I heard of For Aisha a couple of years ago, when a friend of mine reviewed it here on In The Playroom but now that baby N is 7 months and getting on really well with her eating, we had to give it a try ourselves!
We were sent a range of the stage 2 pouches, which are suitable for 7 months + so these are perfect for N’s stage at the moment, and also a range of the 10+ month meals (stage 3) which are chunkier and more appropriate for older babies. The stage 3 meals have been repackaged into a tray format, making it easy for babies to feed themselves, and these tray meals are available for £1.85 each.
Both stages of For Aisha baby food have a good choice of meals, with flavours from all around the world like Jamaican jerk chicken to Moroccan chicken tagine, or English shepherd’s pie. I really like the new packaging designs with the “A world of adventure” slogan and whether you require Halal meat for your baby or not, I think these range of meals are really nice to open up different styles of cuisine, and offer a lot of variety of flavours.
The stage 2 and stage 3 ranges of For Aisha baby foods are available in Asda stores now, and use certified British halal meat.
Here are all of the 7+ month pouches that N’s been trying. The chicken and sweet potato curry was her favourite, followed by the mild curried chicken and dhal.
And I’m sure we’ll be on to these stage 3 options before too long!
The stage 2 pouches which N has been eating do have texture to them, but it’s still fairly smooth overall and easy to manage.
You can smell the aroma of the spices in the food, and there is plenty of flavour but there’s no chilli or hotness to it. For Aisha food is like a baby friendly version of the type of food we would eat ourselves, so when N was eating it even her older brothers came in the kitchen and said that her food smelled nice!
