3 Ingredient Garlic Dough Balls Recipe

This is the easiest garlic dough balls recipe that you will find. This recipe makes simple garlic dough balls without yeast and without garlic butter so they are also less messy for younger kids to eat as a snack, and are perfect to take on the go.

Maybe you need to jump into the car and rush to after school clubs and activities? These dough balls are ideal to grab and go.

Ingredients

To make this super simple snack recipe all you need is

  • Self raising flour – 200g
  • Plain yoghurt – 200g
  • Garlic powder – to taste (we used around 20g, or a good few generous shakes)

Optionally you can also include grated cheese, of your favourite type, and some additional herbs if you would like.

We added grated medium cheddar to some of our garlic dough balls to make them cheesy garlic dough balls and others we left plain.

For the yoghurt, you can use fat free yoghurt, or full fat yoghurt. Either way will work just fine, so it depends on your dietary preferences.

You can adjust the quantities just keep equal parts flour to yoghurt, and add more flour if needed for consistency. Use a little extra flour to dust the table for dough kneading and rolling.

Method

Pre-heat your oven to around 190 degrees / Gas mark 5 (adjust based on your individual oven’s performance as needed)

In a bowl, mix your yoghurt and flour until they star to form a dough consistency, then add some garlic powder and keep mixing.

Once your dough is starting to come together, dust the table with flour and place your dough on the table to knead it and roll it to get the perfect dough consistency.

How to tell if your dough is fully kneaded? It should smooth out and not stick to your hands as you are kneading. If the dough is slightly sticky and sticks to your hands, add a little more flour.

Once your dough is ready just break apart and roll into smaller dough balls then you are ready to put them in the oven.

We used a muffin tray to keep each dough ball separate. You can also make them on a flat oven tray, just leave some space between each one.

You do not necessarily need to oil or grease the tray – We did not, and had no issues with the dough balls sticking. You can line the tray with parchment paper if you would like to.

It will take around 10 – 15 minutes for the dough balls to bake fully.
