You might have heard about coverless duvets lately, and been wondering what they are. Coverless duvets have been gaining popularity, and for good reason.

We were sent a new junior coverless duvet from the Fine Bedding Co to review and share our experiences with you all.

Coverless duvets are one piece bedding solutions, where you don’t need to use a traditional duvet and a cover on top, the duvet and cover design is all in one.

You just need to add a pillow, and the matching pillow case will be included in the set.

Are Coverless Duvets A Good Idea?

When using a coverless duvet, this eliminates the need to change duvet covers on laundry day, as you can wash the entire duvet which stays in one piece.

If you find that your child’s duvet always gets scrunched up within their duvet cover then this is a brilliant solution for that too, and it can make it easier for little ones to make their own bed in the morning!

The coverless duvet sets are hypoallergenic, and knowing that you have washed the entire duvet each time rather than just the cover, is reassuring for increased hygiene. Sometimes traditional feather duvets can trap dust mites inside, so particularly if you have a child with allergies, it’s great to know the whole thing is being washed every time. Or if you’re dealing with issues like bedwetting and more frequently needing to thoroughly wash the entire bedding, this would be a lifesaver.

The Night Owl children’s coverless duvet sets are filled with innovative Smartfil® microfibre technology which delivers great comfort and washability.

Does a Coverless Duvet Fit in The Washing Machine?

The whole duvet is extremely lightweight, while still being warm and cosy enough, so thew whole thing can be washed and dried in a couple of hours.

Before trying coverless duvets, my question was how easily they would fit into the washing machine, considering normal duvets sometimes don’t fit – but actually it washes easily and well, which is brilliant.

To properly launder your coverless duvet, wash at 40°C in a large capacity machine and then tumble dry until thoroughly dry – that’s all. In comparison, to wash a traditional duvet, you may need to take it to the dry cleaners depending on the size of the duvet and the size of your washing machine.

Typically, a 7kg washing machine can fit a double duvet and a 10kg washing machine can fit a kingsized duvet, so with children’s coverless duvets you should have no problem at all whatever your washing machine capacity.

I love the beautiful pastel colours available in these designs, and they are all so cute! It’s hard to pick a favourite. We went for the reversible set with plain colours for versatility but the patterned and themed designs are so adorable, too.
