There is a new Thomas & Friends DVD available – Thomas & Friends Dinos & Discoveries. This new DVD includes six never shown on TV episodes plus bonus features and is sure to be a hit with any young Thomas fans, like my three boys.

All aboard for a roaring good time with Thomas and his friends! The engines are filled with wonder at the fantastical new sights and sounds on Sodor as the engines help the Earl with a special surprise. Marion experiences some dino daydreams, as Bill and Ben send Timothy on an expedition for a rainbow-coloured truck. Samson discovers his slip-ups cause confusion and delay, while brave Emily steps up to save the world.

The full length of the DVD is 70 minutes, with each of the main episodes running for 10 minutes each which makes this a handy DVD for when there is not time to settle the kids down with one of the full length Thomas movies.
My 3 year old R gets home from nursery about 10-20 minutes before we have to leave to pick up his older brothers from school, so DVDs with shorter episodes like this are really convenient for those kind of times since he really likes to have a few minutes to wind down but there is no time to watch something longer!
It’s great that the DVD has new content on it, rather than the episodes which have already been shown on TV since those have already been watched so many times! My younger boys are the bigger Thomas fans (R my 3 year old, and T my 5 year old) but because the episodes are all new, and because the dinosaurs grabbed his attention my oldest boy Z (6) also gave it a watch.
This DVD features lots of the newer characters from the last couple of Thomas movies, like Marion from Tale of the Brave and Stephen from King of the Railway, which helps to keep these episodes fresh and up to date. It also introduces a brand new engine called Samson, which is always exciting!
I’m sure any young Thomas fan would love to add this DVD to their collection!

National singing competition launched to mark the brand’s 70th anniversary

To celebrate 2015 as the year of friendship for Thomas & Friends, and to mark the iconic brand’s 70th birthday, primary school classes across the country are being invited to enter a singing competition to win the chance to record a new song for the upcoming film release this autumn.
