The Big Knights

From the makers of Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, comes a new raucous and chivalrous animated-adventure; The Big Knights. The Independent Cinema Office (ICO) are delighted to be releasing this newly remastered compilation, hand-picked by its creators, of the best of the brilliant BBC children’s series, galloping to a cinema near you, from 23 October.

In the far off land of Borovia, where dragons are fierce, witches are wicked, scientists are insane, the economy is bad and television is in black & white, stands Castle Big, home of The Big Knights…

Big Knights - Big Knights shouting - the King!

Follow the adventures and ensuing mayhem of brothers Sir Boris (the finest swordsman in the World), Sir Morris (not the finest swordsman in the World, but the most enthusiastic) and their armour-plated noble pets, Sir Horace the Dog and Sir Doris the Hamster, a small rodent with an enormous appetite. Narrated by Alexander Armstrong and voiced with bellicose charm by Brian Blessed (Sir Morris) and David Rintoul (Sir Boris), the brothers are the height of two men, the weight of four and the strength of sixteen. They right wrongs, rescue princesses and woe betide anything that gets in their way! Endowed with all the wit and charm familiar to audiences of Peppa PigThe Big Knights gallantry is hilarious and immensely endearing.

The Big Knights on tour will bring audiences across the UK a new larger than life set of characters to fall in love with.

The boys and I have enjoyed watching The Big Knights. It’s witty and entertaining in the style that we know and love from Peppa Pig – You can instantly recognise the illustration and animation style – but it will appeal to slightly older children too.

The characters of The Big Knights are greats, from the knights who are clumsy and always getting into a spot of bother, down to their pets – including the hamster Sir Doris who is my favourite.
