Ten bedroom styling tips for a better night’s sleep

While you can always put some of your personality into your bedroom, it’s more important that it helps you to get a good night’s rest. Here are my top ten tips for achieving just that…

Ten bedroom styling tips for a better night’s sleep

  1. Calming colours

While bright yellow or acid green might be funky, they’ll do nothing to help you wind down in the evening. Cool mint greens, sea blues and lavender tones are all hues to help you drift off. The other important thing besides having calming colors is adding warmth and calming designs. You can add throw pillows with inspirational prints on them so you can relax and bring balance to your favorite space at home. Sprinkle love and inspiration around your house. It will calm you down before bedtime.

  1. Plantlife

The type of air you’re breathing in will influence your ability to sleep. By placing plants in the room that help to remove toxins and boost oxygen circulation, such as Aloe or Peace Lilies, they will not only provide health benefits, but act as a stylish accessory too.

  1. Blackout blinds

It could be that a strip of sunlight in the morning is waking you too early, or do you find that the lighter evenings hinder your sleeping pattern? Installing blackout blinds as a secondary layer to your curtains will be a discreet solution. You can also install frosted glass to your window. Frosted privacy window film is the clean and elegant solution for obscuring rooms from view, and thanks to the translucent quality of the material, without having to sacrifice natural light.

You may need to invest in some good quality curtains. Imperial Rooms occupy a top position when it comes to customer service, value of money, and high-quality products. Check their website for the whole range of magnificent products they offer. Making sure the room is nice and dark and curtains also have amazing patterns that can help give your bedroom a new refreshed look.

  1. Mattress topper

If you can’t afford to pick up a brand new bed, but your mattress is uncomfortable, buying up a memory foam mattress topper will add extra comfort for the contours of your body.

  1. Lavender oil

The scent of lavender has long been known to have a soporific effect on the body. As well as adding a few drops of lavender oil to your bath of an evening, be sure to add a couple to your pillow too.

  1. Lighting

Soft lighting is an absolute must in the bedroom. Install a dimmer switch by your bed so that you can adjust it accordingly. On the other hand, you could get a reading light or softer bedside lamp.

  1. Plump cushions

If your head doesn’t have enough elevation when you sleep, it can be difficult to find a position that’s comfortable. Pick up some fresh, plump pillows so you can rest your head much easier. You may want to check Oxford Homeware for some amazing options for cushions. They have a wide range of products and their website is super user friendly. You can easily find anything you want. They have been selling home décor products for 15 years. They sell everything & anything you need to decorate your home in order to help you design your place & make it more beautiful & luxurious.

  1. Noise control

If you live close to a road and suffer from noise pollution, there are a few things you can do to minimise it. Move your bed so that the headboard is against a solid wall, and you’re as far from the window as possible. You can also have double-glazing installed.

  1. Limit technology

Staring at a screen last thing at night is the worst recipe for a peaceful night. Aim to have the last hour before you go to sleep as one where you don’t use any technology, and make sure it’s on silent throughout the night so you’re not tempted to answer any late-night messages.

  1. Pamper yourself

Finally, this is your area for rest and relaxation, so surround yourself with things that will make going to bed feel like you’re retiring to a luxury hotel suite. Whether it’s lighting scented candles, or simply making a warm drink before bed, it will all help.

How do you make sure you get a good night’s sleep?
