Back-to-school shopping always seems to come with a long list. Uniform, stationery, bags, water bottles, lunch boxes and, of course, a reliable pair of school shoes. This year, though, I already have one less job to do because my daughter’s Start-Rite school shoes are still looking perfect.
She received a new pair towards the end of the last school year, and despite wearing them to school for the end of the summer term, they still look smart and ready for another term. Anything that makes the back-to-school rush a little easier is a win for me!

Children spend such a large part of their day wearing their school shoes, so they need to be comfortable, supportive and able to keep up with everything they do.
My daughter is really into football at the moment – especially as we’ve just dropped her older brother off for a soccer scholarship in the US, so she is constantly kicking a ball alongside all the usual running, climbing and general rushing around that happens during the school day.
School shoes are certainly not just worn for sitting quietly at a desk. They need to handle the playground, busy corridors, outdoor activities and whatever adventures children manage to fit into their day.
