Last weekend we were lucky to have the chance to go along to a preview screening of Reef 2: High Tide, which is out today!
Reef 2 is a brilliant underwater adventure for all the family. It’s a striking CGI animation by Paramount Pictures starring Drake Bell, Fran Drescher, Andy Dick and Frankie Jonas.
The story tells of brave fish Pi who has defeated bullying shark Troy once before, but when Troy returns stronger than ever and with a gang of shark supporters, Pi realises he can not defeat him alone and needs to make a plan to defend the Reef.
At first Pi thinks the best way is to teach everyone to fight just like him, but it does not go well so the rest of the Reef are easily won over by charming stranger Ronny who persuades them all to hold an Underwater Musical Extravaganza instead of training to fight!
The film has a great mix of action, comedy and a positive message about how everyone in the Reef has their own special skill and that they can all succeed when working together!
Have a look at the trailer below:
We would definitely recommend the film. All my boys really enjoyed it from age 2-5 years but it is suitable for older children too. Even their dad and I enjoyed it too! The animation is really striking and colourful and the underwater environment is suited brilliantly to watching in 3D.

Glad your kids enjoyed it. Hoping I can get along with my lot soon! x
It looks like a lovely film. There’s no chance any of my children would sit through a whole film so shall wait to download it and watch it at home so we can pause every 10 minutes for an intense debate on what’s happening and toilet or snack breaks etc.
