It’s national Play-Doh day today! We have been having fun with a new Play-Doh toy: the Play-Doh Cupcake Celebration play set. This set has a funfair theme, along with lots of accessories to make cupcakes and cookies out of Play-Doh.
The Play-Doh Cupcake Celebration play set has so many little moulds and features that it kept R (4 years old) entertained for over an hour at a time, and we had a lot of fun designing cakes together.
The set requires minimum assembly, to put together the ferris wheel and a couple of the other pieces, but it’s really quick and easy, and definitely looks inviting for any Play-Doh lover once it’s ready.
R always enjoys Play-Doh (I love playing it with him too, I have to admit – the texture is so relaxing!) and this set offers a lot of variety to get him out of his usual routines and get him making something different.
The set comes with some extruders where you place the Play-Doh inside and then push down to create a thin flow of Play-Doh from the other end, and there’s another where you turn the handle to create lots of little Play-Doh sprinkles.
The set comes with 5 pots of Play-Doh. Two are regular Play-Doh and three of them are Play-Doh plus which I had never seen before but seems to be softer than the usual Play-Doh. The colours for all of the pots are really bright and appealing, with neon colours included.
The entire base of the play set, and the wheel, are all covered in differently shaped molds to make extra details for the Play-Doh cupcakes. There are so many cute shapes. We loved all the fishes, and the fruits like strawberries and cherries.
Using the set R was able to make some great looking cupcakes and cookies, and had fun pretending to eat them up too.
If you’re feeling inspired to get busy with some Play-Doh, Argos are doing a promotion for World Play Doh day!
