If your children wear glasses, then they might want to check out the new and exclusive range of children’s Disney and Marvel glasses available at Specsavers nationwide. Disney has teamed up with Specsavers to launch a magical range of glasses for children, which will be available in stores nationwide and Specsavers.com from Wednesday 13 May.

We visited Disney’s HQ last week to enjoy a screening of the new Cinderella movie (which we loved!) and to take a look at the new glasses range.

I was impressed with the variety of characters available and all of the glasses looked stylish for kids. They’re definitely the type of glasses that would help a child feel excited about needing to get glasses, rather than seeing it as bad news.

My mum had glasses from a young age, and I remember her telling me about how little choice there was for children’s glasses. There was basically one or two styles and that was it – you had to get what you were given, but times have definitely changed! Kids these days can feel proud of their new glasses, and choose something that reflects their personality.

Kids can choose from classic characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse or modern day favourites including Frozen’s Elsa, or Cinderella, who is sure to be popular with the new movie being out this year.

The glasses are free for under-16s as part of Specsaver’s NHS offer, along with their 2-for-1 offer on frames. If you do need to buy additional pairs, the frames are priced at £64 each.

For the boys (or girls, if princesses are not their thing!) there is also a Marvel range launching which features a selection of Avengers and Spider-Man glasses. For fans of a certain galaxy far, far away, the new Star Wars range will also be available and will include modern styles that will make your little Luke or Leia feel out of this world.

Kerry Pullen, Specsavers’ Director of frame range development, says;

‘We’re so excited to be launching the new collection of children’s ranges. Disney, Marvel and Star Wars are iconic household names and have provided entertainment for kids of all ages for many years.

‘This year will see a number of exciting movie releases for each of the brands, including Disney’s Cinderella, Marvel’s Avengers and the brand new Star Wars film. We expect that the new offerings will go down a storm with excited children across the country.’

At Specsavers all under-16s get a free NHS eye test. All glasses in Specsavers’ kids’ £64 and teens’ £85 ranges are free with under-16s’ NHS funding. Specs wearers can also choose a second pair from the £64 or £85 range, free. Both pairs can come with SuperTough Trivex® single vision lenses with a scratch-resistant treatment, or tinted prescription lenses and a UV filter free in the second pair.

And as for Cinderella, we really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it. I took along my 10 year old niece, as well as Z who’s 6. I wasn’t sure whether Z would love it as much as some of the other Disney movies, since Cinderella is typically more girly but he did really enjoy the story and I think it can appeal to the whole family. It is a little more grown up in style than the animated version, so would be best for school aged children of around 5 and older.

The modern re-make with Lily James and Cate Blanchett is beautifully done, and makes me excited to see the other live-action movies that Disney are bringing out (The Beauty and The Beast will be next!)

If you loved Cinderella too, then you might like these free printable colouring pages that I shared earlier this week. They are Cinderella inspired and suitable for kids or grown ups. Z and I have both enjoyed colouring them!
