Fans of The Muppets are bound to be excited; A new Muppets movie is about to be released: Muppets Most Wanted!
It stars Ricky Gervais as “Dominic Badguy”, Tina Fey as prison officer “Nadya” and Ty Burrell as Jean Pierre Napoleon from Interpol alongside all of the well known Muppets.
The Muppets Most Wanted introduces us to Constantine the World’s Most Dangerous Frog who looks suspiciously like Kermit, the only difference is one black mole on the side of his face and his distinctive accent.
The Muppets are going on world tour, and Constantine manages to infiltrate and take the place of Kermit with the help of his 2nd in command Dominic Badguy who has secured a position as the Muppets new manager. Together they start to implement their cunning plan to carry out a series of bank robberies all over Europe under the camouflage of being part of the Muppets World Tour.
Meanwhile, Kermit finds himself imprisoned in the Russian Gulag where he helps the inmates to star in their own musical.
We took all 3 of the boys (Age 2-5) to watch Muppets Most Wanted. It is the first time that they have seen a Muppets movie as they are more familiar with Disney animated movies, so some of them did find the realistic nature of some of the scenes a little scary – such as in the Russian Prison. The movie is rated as a PG so do be aware that there is some mild peril involved and more sensitive children may be unsettled.
Muppets Most Wanted has plenty of humour to keep the grown ups entertained as well as the children. This movie has done well to cater for all age groups. There are more subtle jokes which only the grown ups will get, mixed in with more visual slapstick to appeal to the children.
The Muppets are their usual charmingly funny selves and the performances from Tina Fey, Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais produced a lot of laughs as you can see in the trailer here:

We enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to families. I feel it may be more suitable to slightly older children. None of us had seen the previous Muppets movie and this did not affect our enjoyment of the movie at all, it’s very accessible to either long term Muppets fans or those who are new to the Muppets.
Muppets Most Wanted is out in UK cinemas March 28th
What do you think of Muppets Most Wanted? Do you think you will go? Let me know in the comments.
We attended a screening of Muppets Most Wanted before its general release so that we could review and help to spread the word.

We’re all SO EXCITED about this! Ours are 8, 6 and 4 and often it’s hard to find films that the 4 year old will enjoy as much as the big ones, but this is one that we’ll all be going to, and we can’t wait! #blogclub

Ooh sounds good. I know what you mean though, I suspect my twins may be a tad scared if there’s anything to be scared of especially in the cinema when it’s dark and very loud!! I like Ricky Gervais though so could be tempted hehe x

Ooooh, I love the Muppets! My two won’t sit still for a whole film (yet!), so I tend to wait until films come out on DVD and then we can watch in installments, but both of them love the Muppet shorts on YouTube – especially the Swedish Chef’s pop-di-corn (Google if you haven’t seen it – it is HILARIOUS)… x
YOU can never go wrong with the muppets . I just love them.

My two would be a bit young for this, but we DID go and see the Lego Movie with Austin the other day. I didn’t think it was as good as everyone’s been raving about, but it was fairly amusing. Aren’t children’s films so cleverly made these days?
