Half term is here, and especially with the colder weather at this time of year it can be hard to entertain the kids. This selection of books is great for keeping them busy, and keeping their brains active.

Highlights Hidden Pictures Halloween Puffy Sticker Playscenes

This book is perfect for this time of year with the Halloween theme. The activities inside involve hunting for hidden objects and solving other picture puzzles, before decorating the scenes with the sheet of puffy stickers which is included. My 3 year especially enjoyed decorating with the stickers, particularly the cute and spooky Halloween pumpkins and cats

Drawing Cartoons from Numbers and Letters

This book gives you ideas and inspiration for so many pictures to draw, using simple numbers or letters as your starting point. Combining material from Drawing Cartoons from Numbers and Drawing Cartoons Letter by Letter, Christopher Hart teaches children a fun way to create over 125 characters. Start with a number or letter and turn it into a cartoon character. Using step-by-step demonstrations, Hart provides an easy process for creating figures such as animals, dragons and robots. This is great for my 9 year old as he loves drawing, but younger kids will be able to work with this book too because the instructions are really clear and it takes you through step by step.
