Jelly Bears the Vegetarian Vitamins

I’m always keen for my boys to take extra vitamins, and as I have told them before that vitamins make them stronger they are keen to take them each night after their dinner especially Mr Z as he wants to run faster! It’s not easy to find vegetarian vitamins for children as many of them have gelatine in them. We prefer vegetarian if possible, as we are Muslim and not all the gelatine found in vitamins would be halal, some are even pork gelatine which we wouldn’t eat.

I heard about Jelly Bears and were were sent 3 different varieties to try out. These have been great for our family.

The three varieties available are:

Summer Berry flavour Multivitamins
1x Orange flavour Zinc and Multivitamins and
1x Orange flavour Omega 3
Each vitamin is a soft jelly squishy bear and children over 3 can take 1 or 2 per day. My kids like to have two because they really like them. They look pretty much like sweets and they taste good, so they don’t complain at all about having these vitamins.

Each box of bears comes in a colourful and appealing cardboard outer box with all the nutritional information that you need.  Inside each box is a teddy shaped container which holds the actual vitamins. I love the concept of this but I did feel that the quality of the teddy container was not as high as I would have liked, in terms of the finish and the plastic used. This did not really stop us from getting the benefit of the vitamins. I would go ahead and buy these vitamins for my children in future as it’s really handy to have a child friendly vegetarian vitamin available in this format, but although the teddy container is marked as collectable and reusable I’m not sure we would consider that totally the case.

Each box contains 50 vitamins and sells for £6.99 which seems very fair. If you want to make them last longer, give only one vitamin per day. Mr Z happened to read the packet that he was allowed 2 per day, so he wouldn’t want to negotiate on that especially as he thinks two per day will make him twice as strong!

The Jelly Bears are made from the plant derivative pectin and have all the following properties:

  • Vegetarian
  • Gelatin FREE
  • Gluten FREE
  • No Artificial Colours
  • No Hydrogenated Fats
  • No Nuts
  • No Wheat
  • 100% Natural

  1. I love the look of the pots! We tried Peppa Pig vitamins with our two, and they went down a storm. I reckon these would work too – a great idea for the weeks when they’re refusing to eat their greens….
