Free Worksheets for the 5 Senses Theme
We all know kids learn best when they’re having a blast so we created these fun free printable worksheets that are sure to get your kiddos’ senses tingling, and you can combine these with some hands on senses activities to complete the theme and get them up from the table, consolidating the learning in the best way.
You can also include a five senses craft along with the worksheet to extend the learning.
Completing Sentences Senses worksheets
The first activity in our worksheet set involves a colorful worksheet where children can exercise their problem-solving skills.
They are asked to match pictures of different body parts to the corresponding sense by cutting and sticking the correct symbol.
This not only helps with their sense of sight but also allows them to make connections between sensory organs and their functions, like the nose for the sense of smell or the ears for the sense of hearing.

To complete this worksheet, have kids cut out the sense organs from the 2nd page, the eyes, ears, nose, hands and mouth, and glue them down in the correct spots to complete the sense sentences.
For this, you will need child safe scissors and a glue stick or school glue and a glue spreader.
Cutting and pasting in this way is also great for fine motor skills!

Drawing Five Senses Activity
Moving on to the second activity – In this follow-up worksheet, children can immerse themselves in a fun worksheet where they draw something for each sense.
This cute worksheet invites your tiny artists to grab their crayons and draw their hearts out.
This could be a fluffy kitten for the sense of touch, a slice of watermelon or a shiny apple for the sense of taste, or the booming sound of a drum for the sense of sound.
This drawing activity not only stimulates creativity but also reinforces their understanding of the senses through engaging their sense of sight and fine motor skills in drawing. it’s all about getting creative and personal with their senses.

Both activities are not only a fun way to learn but also a practical approach to enhancing vocabulary words as children describe different textures or their favorite things.
The worksheets can serve as a precursor to different activities like a nature walk or sensory play, where children can explore new things, different objects, and even new words.
To make the most of these worksheets, encourage your child to pay close attention to the different types of senses as they complete the tasks. Discussing the sensory information they receive from different activities can enhance a child’s critical thinking and use of prior knowledge.
It’s also easy to integrate these sheets into a larger curriculum. For example, following a senses activity with a real-life exploration of different textures in nature or a sorting activity with different items can solidify the lessons learned.
For an older kid or kindergarten students, these worksheets can be part of a larger discussion on scientific method or human body studies.

Let’s make learning as fun as a day out at the park. After some indoor worksheet fun, take the kiddos outside and let them touch the bark of trees, listen to the birds, or have a mini picnic and talk about how different foods taste and smell. It’s all about bringing those worksheets to life.
These aren’t just “sit down and be quiet” activities; they’re springboards for chatty, lively learning. Your preschoolers can explore new textures on a nature walk, get their fingers dirty in some sensory play, or even sort out a bunch of household items by their senses.
What I love about these is that they’re more than just a way to keep the kids busy. They’re a sneaky little tool to slide in some new words and ideas, all under the guise of playtime. And let’s not forget, they’re perfect for those kindergarten kids who are just stepping into the world of science and discovery.
To get started with these sense-sational activities, download the worksheets, print them out, and let the fun (and learning) begin. It’s all about those magical moments when your child’s eyes light up as they make connections and learn new things – without even realizing it!
