Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Day Out

Fireman Sam has a new DVD out now, Ocean Rescue, which contains six new episodes which involve rescue operations at sea. To celebrate the launch of this new DVD we went along to a great Fireman Sam day out involving an RIB boat ride on the Thames and a screening of the new DVD inside the Tower of London.

The boys all enjoy Fireman Sam but after their Fireman Sam day out their enthusiasm for the loveable welsh fireman has gone up even more! We have watched the DVD multiple times since the launch day, all three of the boys enjoy it (age 3-6).

The new focus on having Fireman Sam out on his boat doing Ocean Rescue missions really appealed to the boys, especially after riding on a similar boat themselves. Mr R was very excited to see all the boats in the DVD screening and was pointing them all out after the show. I would definitely recommend a trip in an RIB boat to any families visiting London, and would recommend the new Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue DVD for children of around 2-6.

  • ‘All at Sea’
  • ‘Whale Watch’
  • ‘The Pontypandy Cup’
  • ‘Turtle Hunt’
  • ‘The Treasure Trap’
  • ‘Stage Fright’.

Join Fireman Sam for the grand opening of Pontypandy’s Ocean Rescue Centre! New coastguard Benworks alongside the Rescue Team to keep everyone safe with heroics on the high seas. Mike takeson the choppy waters alone as he attempts to set up some fireworks, but they accidentally all go offat once! Meanwhile, Norman and Mandy row out to sea in search of a rare turtle – but it’s not longbefore they are lost, and the waves keep getting bigger. Will Fireman Sam be able to find thembefore disaster strikes?

Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue DVDThe total running time is 65 minutes, so each episode is a bite sized chunk suitable for younger children, although mine tend to be happy to watch a few in a row.

The DVD includes all the familiar favourites like Sam and naughty Norman Price and they seem to be just as popular now as when Fireman Sam first came out in 1986 (which means Fireman Sam is exactly the same age as me!) I do like to see my children enjoying shows which have been around since my childhood, and Fireman Sam is an excellent one that’s kept its appeal and always has beneficial messages in each episode about helping others, being kind and doing the right thing.

Character have launched a new range of Ocean Rescue toys to go alongside the DVD. We have the Fireman Sam Titan Boat and you can read our full review of it here. The Ocean Rescue play set looks great too!

The boys had a great time at the Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Launch event. Here’s Mr R with Fireman Sam, although he was a little shy

The Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue DVD is available at many good shops including Amazon (affiliate) where it is currently £6 which is a great price!

As you can see Mr T gives it a big thumbs up

  1. What a great day out! I’ve always wanted to ride the RIB boats but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I haven’t come across Fireman Sam yet… but Pumpkin is only eight months, so I’ve been spared from most children’s television so far. 🙂 #WHWH
