For many parents, mealtimes can feel like the hardest part of the day. Plates get knocked over, sauces spill, and food touches in ways that spark protest. What should be a happy family moment quickly turns into a stressful and overwhelming task, especially if you have a child who is sensitive to textures or to the chaos of food mixing or touching.

For one British mum, this challenge hit very close to home. Living as a single mother in Dubai with her young family, Feenie watched her eldest daughter, who has ADHD and likes to keep her food separate, struggle with traditional plates. Flat plates didn’t work for her, bread got soggy, sauces ran and no food component was protected. Divider plates seemed too childish for a growing girl and the designs she did find weren’t suitable (cheap material or disposable!), so Feenie decided to create one. She spent more than a year designing and creating countless prototypes that would solve these frustrations and make meals feel calm again. The result is Feenie’s Plate, a piece of tableware created with love, patience, and a deep understanding of what families need.

At first glance, Feenie’s Plate looks like a beautiful piece of dinnerware (which it is!) that you’d happily serve to guests. What sets it apart is a subtle, sculpted section that holds food in place without looking like a child’s plate. Bread stays dry, rice stays fluffy, sauces stay where they belong, and sides keep their crisp bite. Whether it’s stew and bread, tacos with rice, mezze spreads, or even a classic Sunday roast, the plate adapts beautifully to meals from around the world. Instead of juggling extra bowls and side plates, families can enjoy everything neatly on one plate.
Made from vegan, animal-free new bone china, Feenie’s Plate combines strength, durability, and elegance with sustainability. It has the luminous glow of fine bone china but is completely cruelty-free. It’s also designed for busy family life: microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and tough enough for everyday use – it’s even tried and tested for picnics! Parents don’t have to compromise between something practical for the kids and something stylish for the table; this plate does both.

What makes Feenie’s Plate truly special, though, is the story behind it. This isn’t a product dreamed up in a design studio. It’s a mother’s solution, born at her own table, out of a desire to make mealtimes less overwhelming and more joyful for her child. That empathy carries through to every detail, including the artwork which Feenie drew herself – influenced by her South Asian and Persian heritage. It’s not just for kids, it’s for anyone who loves their food to feel balanced and thoughtfully presented, it’s for all eating styles and for those who choose to eat differently.
As families know, the little things often make the biggest difference. A calmer mealtime can mean fewer battles, more laughter, and a chance to connect. Feenie’s Plate doesn’t just hold food; it makes space for those moments.

Launching on Kickstarter on October 1st, Feenie’s Plate is ready to find its way to more family tables. The prototype is final, the design perfected, and the heart behind it unshakable. For parents who want meals that are easier, calmer, and more enjoyable, or families who want something stylish for different eating styles at mealtimes, this might just be the dinnerware we’ve all been waiting for.
